Funza Lushaka Teaching Bursary Program

Teaching bursary scholarship program is a bursary program to assists youth of South African to achieve their teaching career in public school. Ensure that you have chance to win the bursary scholarship, thus you have no problem to obtain teaching qualification, here are requirements to follow; (1) keen interest in teaching, in short, you not only have integrity to do your job, but you deal with no problem to work with the youth, (2) have sound academic result and aim to complete PGCE and capable to obtain its two priority area, and (3) have no problem to teach in rural communities. Successful bursars are able to request their placement, even so in the end the PED will determine the request based on the availability of the vacancy.

Speak of priority area for the teaching bursary scholarship program, it includes; (1) foundation phase, such as, grades R-3 which focus is on indigenous African language, (2) intermediate & senior phase like grade 4 to 9 , that covers technology, natural science, and maths, and FET phase, for instance, grade 10-12 (major of teaching in two) that includes, mechanical technology, physical science, engineering graphics & designs, electrical technology, accounting, civil technology, agricultural technology, and more. The application of Funza Lushaka bursary scholarship is available for new applicants and bursars who want to repeat the bursary. Keep in mind that to be eligible for the bursary program, you have to pursue qualification in PGCE, BEd, BTech, BA or its relevant qualifications which is stated by the bursary. Application can be done online through the specified internet website before November 18th for reapplication and January 8th for first time applicants. Due to the completion of the bursary, bursars are obliged to teach per year based the year they spend for the bursary.
